It first introduces Herbs 37 original tunes and some of Richards and describes Richards scale system and then applies it to Herbs songs. A CD is included of recordings of both authors songs in MP3 format. Selected tunes are analyzed in the text and used to demonstrate the scale substitute system. In another chapter the sax solo of Bob Berg on Mitzvah Waltz is analyzed. The student will be able improve his or her technique of improvisation using the Drexler method once it is assimilated and reinforced.
